In early 2008, large areas of southern China was hit by a rare occurrence rain and snow disaster, the forest ecosystem was serve damaged, and the environment of the Bamboo Sea of Yibin was seriously affected. In the scenic area,2.15 million Mu of bamboo forest were affected, which severely affected area reached 1.29 million Mu, and bamboo landscape effects have been damaged to some extent. The scenic managers carried out the some works of cleaning-up the damaged bamboos and have taken effective recovery measures, such as scientific and rational fertilization, forest structure adjustment and strengthen the protection of bamboo to ensure the activities of rational utilization of bamboo resources and scenic eco-tourism can be carried out in orderly way.The dominant species of Bamboo Sea of Yibin are bamboo plant, and the the bamboo tour is based on the beautiful bamboo eco-environment, combining with the ornamental and cultures of the bamboo plants. Because of its distinctive features and unique, it becomes an important component of China Forest Tourism. As the recognition of the ecological benefits of bamboo, bamboo eco-tourism was more and more loved by the tourists. In this study, the main object is the ornamental bamboos in the Bamboo Sea of Yibin. By investigating the growth of bamboo species after the disaster and monitoring the environmental ecological index, comparing the growth of four major ornamental bamboos in the scenic area before and after the disaster, anglicizing the recovery of the bamboo forest after the disaster and the ecological benefits such as fixing carbon and releasing oxygen, lowing temperature and increasing moisture, reducing noise, absorbing dust, reducing solar heat radiation, producing the air negative ions, this paper concludes:(1) The growth of the major ornamental bamboos in the Bamboo Sea of Yibin was affected by the snow and ice storms of 2008. The general Diameters at Breast Height of these three ornamental bamboos have significant difference between different ages. For the Bambusa rigida, the diameter at breast height of two-year-old bamboos is larger than one-year-old and three-year-old bamboos, while the diameters of breast height of Dendroclamus Farinosus and Neosinocalamus affinis have the trend of decrease as the age of the bamboos decreases. Comparing to the two-year-old Neosinocalamus affinis, the diameter at breast height of one-year-old Neosinocalamus affinis decreases about 0.7cm. Besides, the number of bamboo shoots in 2009 of these three sympodial bamboos was increased. For the diameter at breast height of Phyllostachys pubescens, the 2006 born bamboos and 2007 born bamboos have no significant difference, as well as the 2008 born bamboos and 2009 born bamboos also have no significant difference. But because of the affect of the snow and ice storms of 2008, there was significant difference between before-storm born bamboos and after-storm born bamboos. The analysis results show that, comparing with the 2006, 2007 and 2008 born bamboos, the average diameter at breast height of 2009 born bamboos decreases about 0.63cm,0.57cm and 0.15cm. Besides, the "Da Xiao Nian" phenomenon was broken, and the number of newly born bamboos in 2009 was significantly increased.(2) The four kinds of ornamental bamboos in the scenic area had outstanding carbon fixing and oxygen releasing abilities. By measuring and calculating, capability of the seasonal daily CO2 accumulation capacity and daily O2 release capacity of unit forest area was Dendroclamus Farinosus>Neosinocalamus affinis>Phyllostachys pubescens>Bambusa rigida, and the daily CO2 accumulation capacity was around 4.54~26.03 g·m-2·d-1, while the daily O2 release capacity was around 3.30~18.93 g·m-2·d-1. During one year, the capacities of fix CO2 and releasing O2 were weakest in winter, while these capacities were strongest in summer.(3) The average temperature of the scenic area was 4.5℃lower than the urban area, and the relatively humidity was 16% higher than the urban area. The capability of improving the temperature and humidity was mainly depend on the transpiration effect, and the seasonal changes of transpiration effect were different with the different bamboo species. By the calculation, Dendroclamus Farinosus was proved to have a better capability of improving temperature and humidity among all four kinds of bamboos, while rest of the three bamboos had a newly identical capability. (4) Acoustic environment within the scenic area is better than urban areas, which annual average noise value was below 55dB. Comparing with the Sound Environment of urban area of Changning, the average environmental sound level of the scenic area was lOdB lower, which achieved National Environmental Noise Standard Class 0 or National Environmental Noise Standard Class 1, and very suitable for tourism, travel and rest.(5) The dust reducing capacity of unit leaf area of four kinds of bamboos was around 0.44~2.19 g·m-2, and this capacity of four kinds of bamboos was Dendroclamus Farinosus> Bambusa rigida> Phyllostachys pubescens> Neosinocalamus affinis. In summer, the Neosinocalamus affinis's dust reducing capacity was only 0.09 g·m-2, while Dendroclamus Farinosus was 0.16 g·m-2, which was 1.78 times of Neosinocalamus affinis. Besides, the dust reducing capacity was highly depended on the season, such as the dust reducing capacity was most significant in summer.(6) The bamboo had a good shading benefit, which can significantly reduce the solar radiation. It can reduce 65% solar radiation on average under the scenic forest and had a distinguished advantage than the plant shading benefit in the urban area of Changning, provides a comfortable place for the tourists to enjoy the cool air and have rest.(7) The air ion concentration of 12 main spots in the scenic area was around 2.80×103~4.54×104 per cm'3, and the environment which had the highest air ion concentration was near the Colorful Waterfall spots. Finally, the air cleanliness of all the spots that had been measured were achieved Level A.
