Objective To observe the effect of vascular low intensity semiconductor laser irradiation therapy on expression of MAP2 after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion in rats. Methods Wistar rats were subject to 120 minutes of middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) and reperfusion in different time. All these rats are divided randomly into 2 groups: ischemia/reperfusion group, vascular low intensity semiconductor laser irradiation therapy group. In addition to these, there were shame-operated group and normal control group. Low intensity semiconductor laser was used to irradiate straightly Rat' s femur venous, with a power 7mW, once a day, 60min every time, 7d total. Using TTC stain and HE stain determine the scope and extend of injury. Observe the intensity of MAP2 in ischemic core and penumbra, and the effect of vascular low intensity laser irradiation therapy on expression of MAP2 in penumbra. .Results 1. There was pronounced decrease in the levels of MAP2 in the temperal cortex and in the CA1 sector of hippocampus 1 day after transient ischemia (p<0.01) 2. MAP2 were selectively increased in the penumbra during the longer time, from 2 days to 28 days.3. Vascular low intensity laser irradiation therapy could make the levels of MAP2 higher than that in the groups without therapy in early time 24h, p<0.05), especialy within 6h(p<0. 01) .Conclusion Vascular low intensity laser irradiation therapy could enhance the levels of MAP2 within 24h after ischemia/reperfusion, especially in 6h. Both suggest that low intensity laser irradiation can promote neuronal regeneration .Postgraduate Fengshanwei (neurology) Directed by Professor ShiBingXia...
