[Objective] To investigate the expression of DRH1 gene andki-67 antigen in gastric carcinoma.[Methods] This study is based on 40 cases of primary gastriccarcinoma that were diagnosised through endoscopic and pathologic methods. The DRH1 mRNA levels were semi-quantited in 40 cases of primary gastric carcinoma tissues compared to the paracancerous tissues using reverse transcript polymerase chains reaction The ki-67 labeling indexs were ascertained using inmmunohistochemistry S-P method.[Results) The DRH1 mRNA level was 0.5246?.2894 ingastric carcinoma tissues whileas that was 0.7547 + 0.3020 in corresponding noncancerous tissues(p<0.001). The ki-67 labeling index ranged from 0.097 to 0.775 with the average 0.4532?0.1757,and ki-67 labeling index (0.4688 ?0. 1 608) was higher in 37 cases with lymph node metastases than 3 nonmetastases cases (0.2608 ?0.2701) (p<0.05). The DRH1 mRNA level was not different between two group cases with different ki-67 labeling index.[Conclusion] This study indicated that DRH1 mRNAexpression was down-regulated in gastric carcinoma and suggested that the down-regulation of DRH1 expression may partly play a role in formation and procession of gastric carcinoma, and may be helpful for the diagnosis of gastric carcinoma. The ki-67 labeling index was higher in gastric carcinoma with lymph node metastases than that in those with no metastases, and this result implied that ki-67 labeling index may be helpful to verdict whether lymph node is involved ? to define the coverage of radical operation and to direct the postoperation chemiotherapy.
