Many patients who experienced and survived acute focal cerebral ischemia reserved many neurologic symptoms such as motor diturbance, speech disorder, memory impairment, mood disorder, etc. These brain function deficits would recover partialy, even completely, however, the restoration process would continue for days, months, or even years. After clinical observation and basic medical investigation was performed for many years, we can draw a conclusion that the ischemia, as stimulation factors, can make the central nervous system (CNS) produce a lot of protection reactions to limit the damage, the spontaneous mechanisms of plerosis and protection to ischemia have close relationship with the neurologic functional recovery after cerebral ischemia and can be used to accelerate functional rehabilitation of the ischemic patients. Recently, the mechanisms of the post-ischemia functional rehabilitation have been developed in the fields of molecular biology, biochemistry, etc. While, clinical rehabilitative measures such as drugs, function trainings become a hot spot forinvestigation.Insulin-like growth factor, as one of the most important growth factors in human, are abundant in CNS. During the development and growth of CNS, it is an essential polypeptide. It can improve the function of nerve cells by protecting the damaged tissue and decreasing the degree of damage in CNS. The special receptor, IGF-1 R, is necessary for the functionExtensive existence of IGF-1 R in Purkinje's cells and granular cells of cerebral cortex in adults and it's lasting expression in brain regions abundantly containing the above nerve cells, which clarifies that IGF-1R has an important role in the mature CNS. Lots of investigations showed that the protection of IGF-1 R correlates withmany factors in the ischemic penumbra such as NO synthase system, Ca2+ channel, neuron apoptosis, etc. The signal induced by special conjunction between IGF-1 R and IGF-1 plays an important role in the post-ischemia rehabilitation. It is significant to investigate the relationship between the expression of IGF-1R and the mechanism of protection and plerosis after cerebral ischemia.Transforming growth factor (TGFP), as an important pdypeptide that regulates the growth, differentiation and proliferation of cells, has close relationship with the occurance and development of many diseases. TGF(3 may promote the recovery of the damaged tissue by binding to it's specific receptor (TGFPR). Resent study confirmed that TGF|3 has close relationship with diseases of CNS and may promote the functional recovery of damaged CNS. To study the actions of the TGFP and it's receptor TGFJ3R has special significance to investigate the mechanism of protection and plerosis after focal cerebral ischemia.Hypenbaric oxygen (HBO), as a widely applicated rehabilitation measure, has been more and more used to treat the diseases of CNS. The role of HBO improving motor function and promoting the neurological symptom recovery of patients sufferring cerebral ischemia has been demonstrated in clinical observations and basic medical investigations. But the mechanism of HBO therapy have reserved vague and needed to investigate deeply. The present study used immunohistochemistry methods to investigate the expression of IGF-1 R and TGFpR I in different brain regions and in different times after acute focal ischemia reperfusion, and used motor testings to determine the motor capacity following HBO. The goals is to investigate the effects of HBO on acute focal cerebral ischemia in rats, and investigate the implications between the IGF-1 R, TGFPR I and functional protection or cerebral plasticity after focal cerebral ischemiaParti Effects of HBO on Expression of IGF- IR after Focal Cerebral Ischemia in ratsAIM To investigate the expression of IGF-1 R in cerebral cortex of rats suffering focal cerebral ischemia reperfusion and the effects of HBO on it.METHODS Present study employed the rat model of focal cerebral ischemia by intrahiminal filament occlusion to middle cerebra...
