| Objective: The carcinoma of large intestine was the common digestive tract tumor of our country. Its disease incidence and natimortality was growing gradully At present, surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy were still the main methods on treating the carcinoma of large intestine But to the patients of sufFerring from carcinoma of large intestine in their intermecdiate and late stages who missed the opportunity of surgery, feared and refused or couldn't tolerate chemotherapy and radiotherapy , it must have the other way to save or prolong their lives. Chinese medicine was the treasure which our predecessor gave us. The advantage of Chinese medicine had attracted more attention of the world in tumor's prevention and treatment. This article studied the clinical value of carcinoma of large intestine of non-radical resection in their intermediate and late stages.Methods: 36 cases were selected and randomly divided into the test group (18 cases) treated by Tian Ma Grnules, and the control group (18 cases) treated by FMC Chemotherapy alone . After being treated for 2 treatment courses, the curative effect, body weight, Karnofsky scores, immunologic parameters, peripheral blood cells, as well as the toxic and side-effects were also studied.Result: The survival period of test group (1-year-5 years Kaplan -Meiresurvival rate) was longer than control group (P<0.05 or P0.01) .Marked difference (P0.05 or PO.01) was found in physical strength improvements and body weight changes. The observation of immunity parameters and peripheral blood cells parameters were better than control group (P<0.05or P0.01).Conclusion: Tian Ma Granules was better than FMC Chemotherapy in treating the carcinoma of large intestine in their intermediate and late stages, such as improving the immunity function and the life qualities, prolonging the patient's survival period . Especially it had low toxicity and side effect. The future of its clinical application was bright. |
