Objective:To observe the effect of FUGAN injection on anti-hepatocelluar carcinoma and explore the related mechanism. Methods: 50 middle-late stage patients were randomly divided into 2 groups. 20 patients were only treated with transcatheter arterial chemo-embolization (TACE), the other 30 patients were administered with TACE plus Chinese herbs. Objective effects and the changes of subjective symptoms were studied. In the experiment, we observed the action of Chinese herbs injected i. p. on H22 and Siso lines. Results: Because of the significant improvement of the symptoms, quality of life (QOL), body weights, 12 and 24 months survival rate, laboratory indexes, and less toxic effects, the treated group showed better effects than the control group. The experiment showed the injection could suppress tumor lines, prolong the survival time, and promote the effects of chemical agents. Conclusion: FUGAN injection can inhibit the growth of the tumor lines, improve QOL, prolong lifetime. Killing tumor cells directly, improving microcirculation, enhancing chemo sensitivity and immune functions might be the related mechanisms of anti-tumor.
