[Objective] To observe the levels of several factors secreted from fatty tissue----resistin,plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1(PAI-1) and leptin, then analyze the role and possible mechanism of them during insulin resistance.[Methods] Fasting serum resistin,PAI-1 and leptin concentrations were measured in 86 cases ,including type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM), impaired glucose tolerance(IGT) and normal glucose tolerance(NGT); and fasting insulin (FINS) in all cases for calculating insulin resistance index(IRI) (homeostasis model assessment, HOMA),analyze the relationship between them .[Results] Fasting serum resistin concentration[ lg(ng/ml)]in DM group(1.75±0.19) was higher than that in NGT group(1.60±0.25) (p<0.05) and IGT group (1.63±0.22) (p<0.05).Fasting serum PAI-1 concentration(ng/ml) in DM group(4.07±0.49) was higher than that in NGT group(3.26±0.58) (p<0.05) and IGT group (3.65±0.59) (p<0.05),IGT group was higher than that in NGT too(p<0.05). Fasting serum leptin concentration[lg(ng/ml)] in DM group(0.66±0.47) was higher than that in NGT group(0.38±0.26) (p<0.05) and IGT group (0.69±0.43) (p<0.05), IGT group was higher than that in NGT but p>0.05. Partial correlations analysis showed that IRI was correlated with leptin,TG and PAI-1(P<0.05),but not correlated with resistin.[Conclusion] Fasting serum resistin , PAI-1 and leptin levels increased in type 2 diabetes mellitus and IGT. Leptin ,TG and PAI-1 were important factors who effect IRI ,among them leptin is the most strong.
