Expression Of Nm23 Integrin α₅β₁ And VEGF In Breast Cancer And Their Clinical Implication

OBJEICTVES: To investigate the expression of NM23, integrin α₅β₁ and VEGF and their clinical implication in breast cancer.METHODS:The expression of nm23, integrin α₅β₁ and VEGF in 51 patients with breast cancer and 10 normal breast tissues were examined by immimohistochemistry, and the correlation was analyzed between the expression of them and the clinicopathologic findings.Meanwhile, the correlation between nm23 expression both with integrin α₅β₁ expression and VEGF expression was analyzed.RESULTS:(1) The low expression of nm23 in breast cancer tissues is associated with the metastasis of lymph nodes.(2) The low expression of integrin α₅β₁ in breast cancer tissues is associated with the metastasis of lymph nodes and the tissues' low differentiation.(3) The positive expression of VEGF in breast cancer tissues is associated with the metastasis of lymph nodes and the tissues' low differentiation.(4)The level of the expression of nm23 and integrin α₅β₁, in breast cancer3tissues is positive correlation.(5) The low expression of integrin α₅β₁ is associated with the positive expression of VEGF in breast cancer tissues.CONCLUSION:Nm23 and integrin α₅β₁, restrain breast cancer cells proliferation,infiltration and metastasis.VEGF promotes breast cancer cells proliferation,infiltration and metastasis.The low expression of nm23 and integrin α₅β₁,and the positive expression of VEGF is a useful marker that can predict prognosis and identify high aggressive,metastatic potential in patients with breast cancer at early stage.
