Furthermore, we compared VEGF expression with P15 expression, with nm23 expression and with MVD to evaluate the significance of VEGF expression and effect of VEGF on the angiogenesis of colorectal carcinoma tissue.Results:1.The expression of VEGF in colorectal carcinoma was significantly higher than that in normal mucosa. 2.There was no correlation among VEGF,histological type and differentiation degree. VEGF expression is associated with lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and Dukes stage. 3. The expression of P15, nm23 in colorectal carcinoma was significantly lower than that in normal mucosa. There was no correlation among P15,nm23,histological type and differentiation degree. Meanwhile, the expression of P15 and nm23 was associated with lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and Dukes stage. 4. The expression of VEGF was associated with nm23, the expression ofVEGF was associated with p15 in colorectal carcinoma. 5. MVD in colorectal carcinoma was significantly higher than the MVD in normal mucosa. There is no correlation among MVD,histological type and differentiation degree. Meanwhile, the expression of MVD was associated with lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and Dukes stage. 6. The 5-year survival rate was significantly lower in the patients with positive VEGF than in the patients with negative VEGF.(P<0.05) Conclusion: The results of experiment suggest that VEGF was overexpressed in coloretal tumor tissue, and the overexpression of VEGF is associated with tumor progression, metastasis and poor prognosis in patients with colorectal carcinoma, which means that VEGF overexpression is possiblly a useful maker which can predict prognosis and identity high aggressive, metastatic potential in patients with colorectal carcinoma at early stage. Meanwhile, the experiment detects that VEGF expression is closely associated with P15,nm23 and MVD, Which means VEGF may be correlated with angiogenesis through an down-regulation of P15,nm23 expression in colorectal carcinoma... | | Keywords/Search Tags: | colorectal carcinoma, VEGF, P15, nm23, MVD | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
