Objective: In this paper, the chemical constituents in Uighur of Cichorium glafulosiim boiss. et huet were investigated and the bioactive component were determined by animal experiments. The structures of isolated chemical constituents were established by spectral analysis andchemical evidence (IR, UV, MS, 1H-NMR,13C-NMR, etc.). By this way, this paper will provide basic for chemical constituents study of Cichorium glafulosiim boiss.et huet. Methods: 5 kilogram whole herbs of Cichorium glafulosiim boiss. et huet were extracted by alcohol and the chemical constituents were separated by chromatography on silica gel. The models of liver injury were established by abensanil in mice, the effects of Cichorium glafulosuboiss. et huet extracts (XJJ1, XJJ2) in preventing liver injury were observed respectively. Results: Cichorium glafulosuboiss. et huet extract of XJJ1and XJJ2 have significant effect to protect chemical liver injury which induced by abensanil, and the XJJ|, XJJ2 could be regarded bioactive component of Cichoriumglafulosuboiss. et huet. Three chemical constituents of Esculetin, 4 ,5-dihydroxy -3,3',6,7-tetramethoxy Flavone and 2-phenoxychromones, 6-demethoxy4'- O-methylcapillarisin were isolated from the bioactive component (XJJ1) of whole herbs of Cichorium glafulosiim boiss .ethue for the first time.
