Objective Using an appropriate animal model of scar, we can study abnormal scar more frdely and systematically. In order to find an optimal drug for abnormal scar, we tried 3 binds of herb injections and other drugs on scars at rabbit ears.Materials and methods By 2 surgical processes, several full-thickness excisional wounds Was created on the ventral surface of each rabbit ear. 20 days after the second surgery, excessive scars were found. The rabbits were randomized into 6 groups, each group has 3 rabbits. They are group 1 control, 2 triamcinolone acetonde-treated, 3 ligustrazine-treated, 4 diammonium glycyrrhizinate-treated, 5 miltiorrhizae-treated, 6 contractubex-treated. After 40-day treatment, the samples of each group were harvested and the relative indexes of each group were measured. Using method of t-test, the results were statistically analyzed with the software of SPSS.Resalt (1)Gross observation; 20 days after the second surgery, 168 excessive scars were found out of 206 wounds, which were similar to the hypertrophic scar of human beings. 60 days after the 2nd surgery, the scars in group 1 and group 6 were still evident, which looked scarlet and feel tough. The cubage of scars in group 2 reduced obviously, and the scars looked pink or similar to the normal skin. The appearances of group 3,4 and 5 have lijtle difference, the scars looked red. The scar cubage of the 3 groups was smaller than most of group 1. (2) Histological observation: The collagen fibre of scar in group 1 and 6 was thick, and the structure were tight. The collagen fibre in group 2 were loose, and the structure was orderly. The appearances in group 3, 4 and 5 were between groupl and group 2. (3) Hpertrophic index; The results of group 2, 3, 4 or 5 are smaller than group 1 <(P<0. 05), but the difference between group 1 and group 6 has no statistic signif-icance(P>0. 05). d)The content of hydroxyproline in the scar; The results of group 2, 3, 4 or 5 art lower than group 1 (P<0. 05), but the difference between group 1 and group 6 has no statistic significance(P>0. 05).Conclusion We gained hypertrophic scar at the ventral surface of the rabbit by exci-sion of fjull-thickness skin. The curative effect of triamcinolone acetonde was evident in our study. This result was accordant to other authors' reports.
