Objective: Thoraco-lumbar 'inflective compressive stable fracture refers to: (1) simple impairment of spine (no spinal and nerval impairment) (2) moderate compress fracture at 1/3 front part of centrum ( compress^ 1/3),, The body of sufferer is bended violently by strong force when being injured, centrum is pressed each other though the conduction of liquid pressure in intervertebral disk, make 1/3 front part of centrum being pressed with the rapture of spinal ligament.(If the level force is very huge, then a dislocation is easy to happen. Patients with upper centrum moving forward, the dislocation of processus articularis and fracture, are not within the area of this article). To search for painless, short period of treatment and safe therapy. So designing a new instrument of therapy, practice fixation, and independent passive practice have much clinical mean we design a kind of general, stable, convenient and simple clinical fixation instrument and use to the treatment of Thoraco-lumbar inflective compressive stable fracture-saddle-backed waist splint. It can fully embody the principal of combine of move and quiet, collaboration of doctor and patient in the Chinese medical orthopedics.Method: At first, relative Chinese and west medical research data have been investigated, summarized and researched. Second, the research of stress of spine and photoelasticity is deeply analysis, we test character of all kind of materials, contrast and screen the suited material to prepare the clinical splint. The mechanic test and clinical application, throughmany measurement and analysis improvement, research the parameter of all kinds of material and distribution of stress, and contrast with splint, waistline, analysis the relative parameter and afford the stable index of clinical applicationResult: (1) The max supporting weight of saddle-backed waist splint is 90 kg in the bed exercise, applicable to people who have spine length 73cm~67cm( about body height 178cm~165cm) (2) the height of the gas filled pillow is 5cm~15cm (3) The height of the gas filled pillow should be adjusted according to different patient (4) the press on the abdomen deliver by front part of saddle-backed waist splint is 33~36 kpa; Standard piece of waist line is 94cm~70cm, elastic force is 180N .Conclusion: saddle-backed waist splint have passed the test of mechanics and clinical application and have accorded with the reposition requirement of Thoraco-lumbar inflective compressive stable fracture (T11~L2). It have the convenient safe and effective function of restitution and fixation. It has much practicability and is worth to more research and development.
