Purpose: To compare the rapeutic effects of Su Shi method of manipulation combined with external fixation for treating tibia plateau fractureMethod: Two hundreds and forty patients with tibia plateau fractures were divided into external fixations groups (Group A) and internal fixation group (Group B ) randomly, and each group included 120 patients .Among the patients ,185 patients were male and 55 patients were female ,ranging in age from 24 to 64 years ,with an average of 42 years .The patients in Group A were treated with Su Shi methods of manipulation combined with external fixation, and patients in Group B were treated with open reduction and internal fixation with plated and screw.Result: All the patients were followed-up for 6 to 20 months (mean 12.4months).According to the HHS knee scores ,in group A,25 patients obtained an excellent result 88 good ,6poor and 1bad ,the excelled and good rate was 94.17%;while in group B,the above results were 11,86 23,0and80.83% respectively. The was significant difference of the rapeutic effects between two groups (p<0.01).Conclusion: The method of sushi manipulation combined with external fixation is an effective method to treat tibia plateau fracture. But the external fixation cross knee joint limits movement, and the external fixation should be improved to flexible fixer with action axis .
