The objective is aiming at sports fatigue to develop anti-fatigue functional foods' additive prescriptions using traditional Chinese medicine formulas and nutrients of which effects andtmechanism were studied. After a traditional Chinese medicine formula had been selected through endurance experiment, 300 male BALB/C mice were randomly divided into five groups, then taken orally distilled water, traditional Chinese medicine formula agent, nutrients, traditional Chinese medicine add nutrients formula agent, Jingli capsule agent separately for 15d. The time of burden swimming, body weight, plasma lactic acid, blood urea nitrogen, hepatic glycogen, -muscle glycogen, serum creatine kinase, serum lactate dehydrogenase, growth hormone, testosterone, cortisol, T/C and skeletal muscular cell ultrastructure were determined. The results showed that the swimming-time of traditional Chinese medicine formula group (TCMG), nutrients group (NG) and traditional Chinese medicine add nutrients formula group (TCMNG) mice were longer than that of control group (CG) mice. The blood urea nitrogen level of these three groups mice were lower than that of CG mice, and the serum lactate dehydrogenase, growth hormone, testosterone, T/C and hepatic glycogen level of these three groups mice were higher than that of CG mice. These three prescriptions could protect skeletal muscular cell ultrastructure. The body weight of TCMG and TCMNG mice were heavier than that of CG mice. It was concluded that these three prescriptions could strengthen anti-fatigue capacity through accelerating growth hormone secretion, increasing hepatic glycogen reserve, adjusting substance metabolism, improving serum dehydrogenase activity, accelerating plasma lactic acid elimination, accelerating testosterone secretion and increasing T/C, etc. They also could protect the integrity of biomembrane through antioxidant effect to maintain the structure and function of cells and mitochondria. The traditional Chinese medicine add nutrients prescription had great potential efficacies.
