Clinical And Experimental Research On Decoction For Moistenning Lung And Relieving Cough In Treatment Of The Protracted Course Of Chronic Bronchitis Characterized By Syndrome Of Deficiency Of Lung-Yin

Based on the causes and machanism of chronic bronchitis, 42 patients with the protracted course of chronic bronchits characterized by syndrome of deficiency of lung-yin were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group. The former(22 cases) was given Decoction for Moistenning Lung and Relieving Cough(DMLRC) , and the latter (20 cases) was given Syrup for Nourishig Yin and Cleaning Lung-Heat. Meanwhile, the animal experiments of anti-inflamnatory, cough-relief, expectorant functions of DMLRC were carried out .The results showed:1.DMLRC total valid rate was 90.9 % , and there was significant difference as compared to the control group. 2.DMLRC significantly relieved the symptoms such as cough , expectoration, dry mouth and throat.3.There were no adverse reactions in clinical application.4.The experiment reserach showed that the DMLRC could inhibit the mice inflammatory edema degree induced by Xylol and the granulomatous hyperplasia by scager, could obviously prolong the incubation period and decrease the times of cough induced by amnonia liquor in mice and by citric acid in cavy, and could increase secretion of phenol red from mice tracheae and accelerate the resolving phlegm of rats. Finally,we can infer from the clinical and experimental results: The therapeutic effect of DMLRC is certain. Maybe the DMLRC has better functions of anti-inflanmetion, cough-relief, expectorantion, and low toxicity, and can be used as an effective and safe traditional Chinese medicine to treat chronic bronchitis in protracted course with Yin-deficiency of the Lung.
