| Purpose : To observe clinical therapentic effect of Moxibustion on Zusanli point (ST36) combined with needing Ah Shih point on scapulohumerl periarthritis.Methods : 60 patients with periarthritis of the shoulder were equally randomized to two groups(observation group and control group,with 30 cases each).The criteria of diagnosis and adopted various treatment parameters were fixed , and pain of the shoulder , function and activity of the shoulder joint were used as observation indexes , moxibustion on Zusanli combined with needing Ah Shih point and control treatment respectively for 60 cases of scapulohumeral periarthritis. Results : The total effective rate was 96.67%in the treatment group and 90.00%in the control group , with no significant difference between the two groups( p>0.20), but there was a significant difference between the two groups in the cure rate ( 46.67% and 20.00% respectively ) (p<0.05) . By the same , there was also a significant difference ( p<0.001, p<0.001) between the two therapies in improvement of function and pain of the shoulder joint . Conclusion:Moxibustion on Zusanli combined with needing Ah Shih point therapy is a safe and convenient method with remarkable effect for scapulohumeral periarthritis in the aspects of increasing the cure rate and improving function of shoulder joint,and it is significantly superior to that of the common treatment method for treatment of scapulhumeral periartheitis.
