Objective: To study the diagnosis and treatment of primary small intestinal tumor.Method: A retrospective analysis was made of 65 cases of primary small intestinal tumors confirmed by pathology in our hospital.Results: The preoperative diagnosis rate was 63.1%(41 cases) and the misdiagnosis rate was 36.9%(24 cases). 18 cases were benign tumors and 47 cases were malignant. Leiomyoma predominated among the primary benign small intestinal neoplasms, then, adenocarcinoma and malignant lymphoma were common among the primary malignant small bowel neoplasms. The benign neoplasm was located often in jejunum and ileum, the adenocarcinoma often in duodenal, and the malignant lymphoma and sarcoma in the jejunum and ileum.The diagnosis was made mainly by contrast examination of small bowel, endoscopy, B-ultrasonis, CT and superior mesenteric arteriography.Conclusion: It is difficulty to the diagnosis of primary small intestinal neoplasm. Contrast examination of small bowel is helpful. Endoscopy is the best way to find out the tumor located in duodenum andileocecum. and superior mesenteric arteriograthy is necessary for angioma and leiomgoma. The operation is the main treatment ,for the malignant neoplasms , the chemotherapy is necessary.
