Exercise fatigue is a normal physiological phenomenon during training .There is no fatigue without training and there is no improvement without recovery. So appropriate fatigue and recovery are the key to improve the capability of exercise. With the extension of scientific research methods, it suggests that the content of oxygen free radicals in the body increases after high intensity exercise, which is a major factor to cause fatigue. For this reason, it is necessary to seek after simple,convenient,speedy and healthy methods to scavenge surplus oxygen free radicals. As a fine and purely natural method of recovery, massage has already been used in training and teaching. Many experiments suggest that appropriate massage after exercise can effectually accelerate fatigue recovery. Then, can massage accelerate fatigue recovery by mediating the metabolism levels of oxygen free radicals after exercise? There is no research about it now.The purpose of this experiment was to observe the changes of serum oxygen free radicals metabolism of human body after acute exercise and the effect of massage on it. This research could provide another objective theoretical basis that massage accelerated recovery of exercise fatigue, and supplied an effective method for anti-oxidative damage after exercise.Self-contrl was adopted in this experiment. Everyone of 10 male subjects exercised on a cycle ergometer for 1h at 75%VO2max. Each subject had twice experiment, In one experment, the subject had recovery by receiving massage. In the other experiment, the subject had recovery in natural condition. Serum MDA,SOD and GSH-px levels were measured before and after exercise, after massage or natural condition, and 24h after massage or natural condition.The results show that: (l)Content of oxygen free radicals in body increases after acute submaximum exercise, and meanwhile the activity of antioxidative enzyme increases too. So the former balance of the producing and scavenger of oxygen free radicals isn't destroyed; (2)Appropriate massage after exercise can weaken lipid peroxidation , make antioxidative enzyme keep high activity and make the balance move towards the advantageous direction. |
