| Based on theory TCM, combining with modern medicine, the author has systematically discussed pathogenesis and clinical therapy in Trigeminal Neuralgia, and thinks that the fundamental pathogenesis lies in interior wind caused by excessive liver-huo and static blood and phlegm in the channels. So establishes the treating rule _calming the liver to stop the wind,removing static blood and resolving phlegm,removing obstruction in the channels to relieve pain.researches Shu Feng San at the base of this.40 cases patient are treated by Shu Feng San.40 cases patient are treated by Carbamazepine.The statiscal results showed that the markedly effective rate in treatment group is 55%,the total effective rate is 87.5%.the markly effectively rate in comparision groups is 30%,and the total effectively rate is 77.5%.Between two groups the markly effectively rate has significant difference (p<0.05).And the efficency of improving symptoms in treatment group are better than comparision group (p<0.05or0.01).The result in animal experiments of Trigeminal Neuralgia showed that Shutian San could decrease the time of pain,reduce the degree of pain.And the plasma levels of substance P(SP) were significantly decreased while the level of 3 -endorphin( 3 -EP) increased..
