Objective To investigate the changes ofplasma levels of tumor necrosis factoralpha, Endothelin-1 and Angiotensin- II after postangioplasty β -irradiation and its possible mechanisms. Methods TWO hundred and fifty -two wale rats were divided into three groups. Control group (balloon injury), treatment group (balloon injury plus irradiation), sham operation. The pathological change and the plasma conceneration of ET-1, Ang- II and TNF- α at different time points were determined by pathological examination and radioimmunoassay respectively. Result the plasma concentration of ET-1 and TNF-α increased significantly and the plasma concentration of Ang II decreased on balloon injury. The rate of neointimal proliferation and the plasma concertration of ET- 1 , TNF- a were suppressed on treatment group Conclusion TNF- α t ET-1 and Ang- II are important risk factors of restenosis 2.β -irradiation can reduce these factors and prevent restenosis. 3. Does of 24GY is practically given in vascular irradiation.
