Purpose Tc99m-Noet is a new agent for myocardial imaging. Tc99m-MIBI also is a mayocardial imaging agent and is being used for the diagnosis of lung cancer. The aim of this study is to make a preliminary comparison between Tc99m-MIBI and Noet in the sensitivity and specificity of detecting primary lung cancer. Methods 46 objects were studied. 25 patients with lung cancer were recruited. The final pathological diagnosis were obtained by surgical or biopsy on 19 patients,6 patients were diagnosed by CT and clinical follow up.21 age-matched volunteers who were without lung disease with a normal chest film served as controls. Planar and SPECT were performed in all objects. The images were got at 30 and 120 min. after intravenous injection of 740 MBq Tc99m-MIBI or Tc99m-Noet respectively. The interval between MIBI and Noet imaging was 48-72 hr. The images were evaluated by three physicians who have experiences for reviewing imaging. The uptake ratios(the mixmum counts/pixel in the tumor over the mean counts at the opposite normal tissue, T/N) were obtained in the patients and volunteers.ResultsThe sensitivity of detecting primary lung cancer in Tc99m-MIBI and Tc99m-Noet were follow as:Any abnormality has not been found on the images of Tc99m-MIBI and Tc99m-Noet in volunteers control group.Conclusion(1) The significant difference has not been found in the sensitivities of Tc99m-MIBI and Tc99m-Noet for detecting primary lung cancer.(2) The ratio (L/N) of Tc99m-MIBI in the patients with lung cancer was seem to be higher than that of Tc99m-Noet.(3) The specificity of Tc99m-MIBI and Tc99m-Noet was 100% in the volunteers control group. However, the lung benign lesion needs making further study.
