Objective: To investigate K-ras genes mutations and the expression of vasculer endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in non-small cell lung cancers and their relations with kinds of pathological targets: age,sex and phase.Meanwhile, to analyze the association between K-ras genes mutations and the expression of vasculer endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in non-small cell lung cancersMethods: The samples of 33 patients with primary non-small cell lung cancers and 7 patients without lung cancers were measured by SP immunohistochemical studies. Results : (1) The expressions of K-ras genes mutations and VEGF in groups with lung cancers were higerer than those in control groups.(2) There were 14 tumors graded as positive tumors and 9 negative staining about K-ras genes mutations in groups with lymph node metastasis. However, there were 2 tumors graded as positive tumors and 8 tumors graded as negative staining about K-ras genes mutations in groups without lymph node metastasis .(3) There were 19 VEGF-positive tumors and 4 VEGF-negative tumors in groups with lymph node metastasis. However, there were 3 VEGF-positive tumors and 7 VEGF-negative tumors in groups without lymph node metastasis. (4)About the relative analyse between k-ras genes mutations and VEGF in NSCLC r=0.5953, P<0.001, they were closely associated with each other.Conclution: (1) k-ras genes mutations and VEGF can serve as indicaters of lung cancer diagnose. (2) k-ras genes mutations in NSCLC are related to lymph node metastasis and can determine the prognosis of NSCLC.(3) The expressions of VEGF in NSCLC are associated with lymph node metastasis and can determine the prognosis of NSCLC.(4) There were outstanding relationshipbetween K-ras genes mutations and VEGF . It is concluded that K-ras genes mutations may accelerate the expressions of VEGF.
