OBJECTIVEThrough detection the expressions of VEGF-C, VEGF-D and MMP-12in thetissues of Non-small cell lung cancer and peritumoral, to investigate correlations withlymph node metastasis of NSCLC.METHODSExpressions of VEGF-C, VEGF-D and MMP-12in60cases of tissues ofNon-small cell lung cancer and peritumoral were detected by immunohistochemistry,their correlations with clinical-pathological findings and mediastinal lymph nodemetastasis of cancer tissues are analysed in patients.RESULTS1. The positive rates of VEGF-C,VEGF-D andMMP-12were96.7%%(58/60),93.3%(56/60),91.7%(55/60)respectively,which were significantlyhigher than those of the tissues of peritumoral(p<0.01).2. The expression of VEGF-C、 VEGF-D and MMP-12proteins inmediastinal lymph node metastasis of cancer tissues was significantly higher thanthe cases that without mediastinal lymph node metastasis of cancer tissues(χ~2=13.237,χ~2=6.960,χ~2=9.870;p=0.000, p=0.000, p=0.000).3. The expression of VEGF-C,VEGF-D and mmp-12proteins in NSCLCwere not correlated with gender,age,degree of differentiation and types ofhistological(χ~2=0.472;p=0.244),but correlated significantly with the stage ofPTNM(p=0.01).Significant correlations between VEGF-C and VEGF-D(c=0.331,p=0.035),VEGF-C and MMP-12(c=0.372,p=0.016),VEGF-D and MMP-12(c=0.274,p=0.041) expression were observed in mediastinal lymphnode metastasis of cancer tissues.CONCLUSIONS1. The expression of VEGF-C, VEGF-D and MMP-12proteins in the tissues ofNSCLC was significantly higher than the tissues of peritumoral.2. The expression of VEGF-C、VEGF-D and MMP-12proteins in the tissues ofmediastinal lymph node metastasis of cancer tissues was significantly higher than thecases that without mediastinal lymph node metastasis of cancer tissues.3. Significant correlations between VEGF-C and VEGF-D, VEGF-C andMMP-12,VEGF-D and MMP-12expression were observed in the MLNM ofNSCLC.4. The expression of VEGF-C,VEGF-D and MMP-12proteins in NSCLC werenot correlated with gender,age,degree of differentiation and types of histological,but correlated significantly with the stage of PTNM.
