Effect Of Yiweixiaozeng Capsule On The Level Of Free Radical And Gastric Mucosa Histology Development In Rats Model Of Chronic Atrophic Gastritis

Objective: To observe the effect of YiWeiXiaoZeng Capsule (YWC) on the serum level of SOD, MDA and gastric mucosa pathological histology in rats model of Chronic Atrophic Gastritis, and to explore the mechanism of YWC in the treatment of CAG.Methods: Seventy eight male Wistar rats were randomly divided into six groups: normal control group, model group, natural recovery group, WeiMeiSu control group, low-dose YWC group and high-dose YWC group. Except normal control group rats, CAG model was established in other rats by synthetical method: 2% salicylas and 55 C hot water which contained 150g/L Nacl were given orally once a day, and 20mmol/L sodium deoxycholate was drink freely, et al, all the factors were given for sixty days. When the model was established successfully, model group rats were sacrificed, their blood and stomaches were collect, other rats were treated with different medicines, after a month, all the rats were sacrificed, too, their blood and stomaches were collect to detect the serum level of SOD and MDA and observe the histologic mucosa changes by microscopy.Results: Compared to normal control group, the serum level of SOD in the rats of model group was significantly lower(P < 0.001) and the serum level of MDA was significantly higher(P < 0.001) ,and the pathologic changes of the gastric mucosa were significantly worse(P < 0.001), but after the model rats were treated with high-dose YWC for a month, there was no statistics difference in the serum level of SOD and MDA between normal control group and high-dose YWC group(P > 0.05), and significant statistics difference (P < 0.01) in pathologic changes of gastric mucosa was found between high-dose YWC group and model group.Conclusion: Free radical injure might be a important factor induced CAG, YiWeiXiaoZeng Capsule can scavenge significantly free radical and have protective functions against the gastric mucosal injure, even can turnover partly the pathologic changes of gastric mucosa, it might be one of the mechanisms of YiWeiXiaoZeng Capsule to treat CAG effectively.
