Early Observation Of Effect Of Treatment Of Endemic Arsenism With Maixikang

To observe the effect of treatment endemic arsenism with organic selenium preparation,we has investigated the residents of dying village ,heigeda town,shanyin county, shanxi pronvince by means of questionnaires. According to relevant standards: there were 157 patients ofthe 323 questions, prevalence rate was 48.61%, and increased with the increasing of the age, the highest prevalence rate was between 30 and 40 years old. We choosed 60 patients as study subjects , 40 of whom weretreated with maixikang , after that , we has made synthetically indexes mainly with changes of patients' syptom , patients' signs , antioxidant system, the function of liver and kidney ,arsenic of blood , selenium of blood and immunity indexes. The results show: after the trearment , the patients' symptom and patients' sign have changed lightly to some extent; before the treatment , the contents of serum GSH, -SH ,the activities of SOD , GSH-PX were lower ,whole invreased aftetr theament, there was a clear difference between controls and patients(P<0.01); the contents of GOT, GPT, BUN were lower after the treatment than those before the treatment, moreover, a clear difference was betweem them(P<0.01); the contents of arsenic of blood was lower afore thetreatment than those before (P<0.01); while the content of selenium ofblood was higher after the treament than those before(P<0.01); the sign showed that the content of IGA IGG IGM C3 before the treament were lower than those after the treament (P<0.01). the results indicated thatmaixikang can be regarded as an effective medicine to treat endemic arsenism.The study has achieved the early effect of treatment of endemic arsenism with maixikang , this date can be used in the research work about seeking for a kind of early sensitive diagnose index and the way to treat of endemic arsenism.
