Experimental Study of Capsule Maixikang on Inhibiting Atherosclerosis and Clinical Study of its effect on HyperlipemiaMajor : Clinic of the Intergrated TraditionalChinese and Western Medicine Postgraduate : Yong-Lian I An Director : Prof. Qiu-Cheng LinABSTRACTObjectives : Through the expermental and clinical study of Capsule Maixikang, to demonstrate its function of inhibiting atheroclerosis and treating hyperlipemia.Methods : Firstly, in the experimental study, 32 newzealand white rabbits were divided randomly into 4 groups : normal group, model group, control group and treatement group, 8 in each group. Models were created by feeding rabbit with cholesterol and fat in 10 weeks, while control group were given Atromid-s, treatment group Caspsule Maixikang at the same time. (1) At the begin, 5th week and 10th week of the experiment, TC and TG were measured. (2) At the 10th week of the experiment, HDL-C, LDL-C, LPO, SOD, TXB2, 6-keto-PGFIU and ET-1 were measured. (3) At the end of the experment, all rabbits were killed and pathemorphological change of their aorta tissues were observed.Secondly, in the clinical study, 80 patients with hyperlipemia, who also belonged to TCM syndrome of entangled phlegm and blood stasis, were divided randomly into 2 groups, treatment group and control group and group, 40 in each group. Patients in the treatment group were given Capsule Maixikang while control group control drug. Changes of TC, TG, HDL-C and related TCM syndrome were observed after the treatment.Results :The experimental study showed :1. Capsule Maixikang could lower the level of TC, TG inexperimental AS rabbits.2. Capsule Maixikang had the funtion of decreasing LDL-C, LPO, ET-1 and increasing HDL-C, SOD, it also could regulate ratio of TXB2 and 6-keto-PGF, Q to normal level.3. Capsule Maixikang could alleviate pathomorphological change of aorta tissues on AS rabbits.The clinical study showed :1. Capsule Maixikang had good effect on hyperlipemia.2. Capsule Maixikang could remarkly improve TCM symptoms of entangled phlegm and blood stasis.3. The curative effect of the treatment group is higher than that of the control group.Conlcusion : Capsule Maixikang is an effective drug for hyperlipemia and AS.
