Objective To investigate the recent efficacy of percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) (percutaneous trnsluminal coronary angioplasty and coronary stenting) using SPECT 99mTc-MIBI myocardial perfusion imaging in patients with acute coronary syndroms(ACS).Methods The numbers of ischemic segments and the ischemic score were observed by stress-rest 99mTc-MIBI SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging which were performed on the patients before PCI and during follow-up.Results SPECT imaging were obtained in 40 patients before PCI and 1 month ,3 months and 6 months after PCI,respectively. There were significant differences in the ischemic segments(1.57±1.42,1.00±1.39,1.17±1.40, 1. 23±1.33, P<0. 05) and the ischemic score(3. 26±3.63 ,2.29±3.44, 2.54 ±3.41,2.51±3.27, P<0. 05),compaired before and after PCI.It suggested that the recent ischemia was significantly improved.Recurrent ischemia occured in 1 patient(2.5%) 1 month ,4 patients(10%) 3 months and 6 patients(15%) 6 months after PCI.Conclusion Successful PCI can improve the myocardial blood supply and decrease the number of ischemic segments. 99mTc-MIBI ST-RE SPECT can provide an efficient value for the evaluation of the recent efficacy of PCI.
