IntroductionRecent research demonstrates that smoking is one of variable independent risk factors for cerebral vascular disease relative to atherosclerosis, but, the mechanism by which smoking increases the risk of these atherothrombotic events are not fully undersood. In order to discuss the possible mechanism of atherosclerosis and cerebral thrombosis resulted from smoking , we designed the clinical trial to examine plasma tissue factor the whole blood tviscosity under different shear rate, hematocrit, red blood cell adhesion to analyze the effect of cigarette smoking on it.Clinical materials and methodsWe classified the study object into four groups: (1) TIA smoking group, (2) TIA non - smoking group: We selected the TIA patients who have transient ischemic attack frequently in two weeks, the diagnosis criterion of TIA is according to the criterion revised by the fourth general cerebral vascular disease conference , (3 ) smoking health group, (4) non - smoking health group: the later two groups come from physical examination people from our hospital, there are no significant differences in sex and age between groups. Smoking index is referred to that the number of cigarette smoking per day multiply time limit. That smoking index is less than 300 is regarded as lightly smoking group, 300 to 600 is middling smoking group, more than 600 is heavy smoking group. The smoking criterion is more than one cigarette per day and continue more than one year atleast. All of the objects exclude diabetes, hypertension, coronary disease and common cold in two weeks. We collected the blood of every case under vacant abdomen in the morning, and detected the plasma tissue factor level with TF kit of EUSA, the whole blood viscosity under 200 s-1,30 s-1,5s-1,1s-1 was assayed with type LG - R - 80 blood viscometer produced in Bei Jing Gtmsteel Science Instrument Co, Ltd, viscosity measurement was adopted to measure the red blood cell adhesion, hematocrit was examined with Wintrobe Tube method.Results1 The plasma tissue factor level in TIA smoking group and smoking health people group is higher than that in TIA non - smoking group and non - smoking health people group (p < 0. 05 ) , and the tissue factor level in TIA smoking group and TIA non - smoking group is higher than that in smoking health group and non - smoking health people group (p < 0. 05). The plasma tissue factor level has the tendency of increasing with smoking index, tissue factor in heavy smoking group is higher than lightly smoking group and middle smoking group ( p < 0. 05) , but there are no significant differences in tissue factor level between middle smoking group and lightly smoking group. The initiate smoking age has no correlation with the tissue factor level, but tissue factor level in less than 20 years old group is higher than that in 20 ~ 30 years old group and more than 30 years old group, but the tissue factor level in more than 30 years old group is higher than 20 ~ 30 years old group.2 The whole blood viscosity under low shear rate, the hematocrit and the red blood cell adhesion in TIA smoking group and smoking health group is higher than that TIA non - smoking group and non - smoking health group, but the whole blood viscosity under high shear rate in TIA smoking group is higher than TIA non - smoking group.DiscussionOur research find that the tissue factor level in TIA smoking group is higher than that in TIA non - smoking group, this shows that smoking increases the tissue level in TIA group, with the elevation of the plasma tissue factor, the blood is in hypercoagulation, which increase the risk of cerebral thrombosis. The tissue factor level in smoking health group is higher than that in non - smoking health group, this indicates that the blood of smoking health people is in hypercoagulation and hypercoagulation exist in the early stage of As, which hints that smoking increase the expression of tissue factor accelerates the progression of As. The smoking index has positive relation with the plasma tissue fac...
