Objective To study the relationship between the risk stratification in hypertension and the levels of plasma VWF, ADM and ET-1,and explore the clinic significance. Methods 80 essential hypertensives were randomly recruited and divided into 4 groups: the low risk group (n=20), the medium risk group(n=20), the high risk group(n=19),the very high risk group (n=21), 20 healthy persons recruited as the control group. The levels of plasma ADM,ET-1 were determined by radioimmunoassay, and VWF by ELISA Results The levels of plasma VWF increased significantly in low risk group compared to that of the control group (t=2.57, P<0.05), and those of ET-1, ADM were very significantly increased (t=4.12; 6.46 P<0.01). The levels of plasma ET-1, ADM, VWF in medium risk group , high risk group and very high risk group were increased very significantly than those in the control group (t=4.412-25.306, P<0.01). In EH subjects, there were significant differences in ET-1, ADM and VWF. There were positive correlations among the levels of plasma ADM and ET-1, VWF ( =0.602,0.683; P<0.01). There were difference of the plasma ET-1, ADM and VWF before and after treatment (t=3.71~20.8, P<0.01). Conclusions (1) ADM,ET-1 and VWF were involved in thepathophysiology of essential hypertension. (2) The levels of plasma ET-1,ADM and VWF could reflect the risk stratification in essential hypertension.(3) The effective therapy after control blood pressure and risk factor could reduced the plasma levels of ET-1,ADM,VWF and improved Endothecial Function.
