Viral myocarditis (VMC) is a very common cardiovascular disease in childhood . Recently,the prevalence of myocarditis is growing up at homeland.The clinical manifestation of myocarditisare various. Some patients have no special signs and symptoms, however some have severe complications such as heart shock,andheart failure,and even sudden death. Lately, oxygen-derived free radidicals injury of VMC has become a hot point,with the furt-her studys of autoimmunity on free radical biology and free radical medicine. Free radical is a substance that has unpair electrons in molecule,atom or radical.The reactive ability of free radical is so strong that it can assail to lipid, protein of biomembrane and tissue.Under physiological condition,active oxygen that produced by normal cells will not cause cell injury .If the function of eliminating free radical system decreased or the capacity of free radical increased excessively ,cell would have been assailed by free radical,even which lead to injury of body. At present ,it was considered that the increasing of free radical in vivo appeared at hypoxia,ischemia-reperfusion injury,radiation damage,foreign body's stimulation,infection,inflammation process and regression lesion and so on.Some studys showed that free radical ,which was regarded as intimate related factors of severity degree of VMC , had important effects on the process of cardiovascular disease.For this reason ,we made this experiment. In this study ,we detected the level of free radical and anti-oxidant in VMC children(65 cases) and normal children(35 cases)Statistical method adoptedT,(2test and beeline correlation analys-is. The results indicated that The levels of SOD and GSH-Px in treatment group were lower than that of controls before therapy (P<0.01),while there were no difference between the two groups after therapy (P>0.05) . MDA in treatment group was obviously higher than that controls before therapy(P<0.01). After therapy, MDA had no change between two groups(P>.05).These results illuminate that free radical was one of causes that caused VMC.In VMC,SOD and GSH-Px have a negtive correlation with CK-MB,LDH,α-HBDH;but MDA has a positive correlation with CK-MB,LDH,α-HBDH . MDA have the closest correlation with CK-MB,LDH,α-HBDH,it showed that MDA is the most senstivity and credibility . The change of ST-T has no diversity between decreasing group and normal group of SOD,GSH-Px (P>0.05),but it was more obvious in MDA increasing group thanin normal's(P<0.01).It presented the monitoring of MDA in serum would be helpful to realize patient's condition and prognosis. The level of Se in serum of VMC group was evidently lower than that of control group(P<0.01).The serum Zn level in VMC group was slightly decrease (P>.05), which showed system of anti-OFR enzyme was that Se depended on GSH-Px in cardiac muscle cells. There were some reports on the association of oxygen free radical with VMC overseas,but the results were different.There was less report about it at home.The study confirmed injury of oxygen free radical had a very important effect on VMC,it provided a particular and scientific theory basis for analysizing prevention ,control,therapy and prognosis of VMC.
