Objective : To analyse the myocardial wall motion of patients with Essential Hypertention by pulsed Doppler tissue imaging. Methods: 38 patients with Essential Hypertention[28 patients without left ventricular hypertrophy(non-LVH) and 10 patients with left ventricular hypertrophy(LVH)]and 20 age matched healthy subjects as control group were included. DTI (Doppler tissue imaging) data of basal, medium and apical segments were acquired from interventricular septum and lateral wall as well as anterior wall and inferior wall respectively on apical four-chamber and two-chamber views. Mitral valve flow spectra and some general parameters were also measured .Results: Compared with control group, â… ,â…¡group had lower peak early diastolic velocity(VE) and VE/ VA ratio on all segments except apical segments(P<0.01)and there was significant difference between â… and â…¡ (P<0.01). there was no significant difference among these groups in Vs.Conclusion: in Essential Hypertensive patients, the patterns of left ventricular geometry changed, DTI could evaluate the cardic function by mersuring myocardial wall motion velocity of patients with Essential Hypertention , so DTI is an important index to evaluate the degree of Essential Hypertention. .
