Clinical And Trial Study On The Treatment Of Osteoarthritis Of The Knee With Tongbi Capsule

Objective: To observe and evaluate the clinical curative effect and the safety of Tongbi Capsule on osteoarthritis(C)A) of the knee, to discuss its mechanism by systematic clinical observation primarily.Methods: Sixty cases of knee OA patients who were determined deficiency of kidney and cold coagulation, stagnation of blood stasis were divided randomly into the control group and the treatment group, the former was treated with Tongbi Capsule and analogue II and the latter with Wudidan capsule and analogue I. Four weeks is a course of treament.A comparative study on clinical curative effect between the control group and the treatment group was conducted by examing the changing mark of each main and primary symptom or sign in the 2nd, 4th and 8th week and the summarized marks of the main and primary symptoms or signs in the 4th week respectively in the two groups And observed Tongbi capsule"s securityjudged its clinical effect.Results: The score of each main and primary symptom or sign in the 2nd, 4th and 8th week and the summarized marks of the main and primary symptoms or signs in the 4th week comparing with those diagnosing for the first time in two groups were statistic significant ( P<0.05 ) .The reduction of the score of the symptom "stiffness or pain after getting out of the bed" in 2 weeks and the symptom "joint disable" in 4 weeks were statistic significant(P<0.05) .The two groups have no obvious difference in comparing the total clinical curative effect after 4 weeks (P> 0. 05) .No side effect is appeared and the patients' breath,heart rate,pulse,blood pressure and the other laboratory examination indexes have not changed during the treatment.Conclusion: Tongbi capsule and Wudidan capsule can reduce the Knee OA patients' scores of the main and primary symptoms or signs.But in alleviating the symptom "stiffness or pain after getting out of the bed " in 2 weeks and the symptom "joint disable" in 4 weeks,Tongbi capsule is obviously superior to Wudidan capsule,ameliorate quality of life and its clinical use is safe,deserves the clinical generalization.
