Objective: To explore the relation of accumulative liquid of subcutanea to skin flap necrosis postoperative of breast cancer, and analyze the reasons and refer the ways of preventing and tackling of accumulative liquid of subcutanea. Methods: To contact a retrospective analysis of the accumulative liquid of subcutanea 34 cases and skin flap necrosis 24 cases of postoperative of breast cancer among 138 patients from January 1985 to January 2004, and analyze it by using statistic method. Results:34 patients appeared accumulative liquid of subcutanea and 24 patients accured skin flap necrosis .The incidence of the flap necrosis with the accumulative liquid group is higher than without the accumulative liquid group. The necrosis rates of skin flap were 35.3% and 11.5% in the accumulative liquid group and no accumulative liquid group respectively. There is significant difference between the two group (p<0.05). Conclusions: Accumulative liquid of subcutanea is one of the important reasons leading to the skin flap necrosis after operation of breast cancer. The production of accumulative liquid of subcutanea mainly results from improper treatment during operation and postoperation, and it can be decreased by proper preventive measures.
