Objective:To study the influence of Essential Hypertension assosiated with Obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS)on systems of cardiovascular, endocrine and renal. Methods:Concentrations of serum lipid , blood glucose , serum insulin, serum aldosterone, renin, angiotensin, urinary Vanillylmandelic acid(VMA) and protein,24-hour blood pressure and structure of heart were simultaneously examined in 126 consecutived essential hypertension patients with snoring and/or BMI more than 25kg/m2. Eighty patients were male, and 46 were female. Patient age ranged fromed 30 to 78 years old, with the mean age 51.3 ± 10.8 years. The patients were categorized as three groups, essential hypertension only (EH control group) one, essential hypertension assiotiated with slight hypoxia(SaO2>85% S OSAHS ) group and hypertension assiotiated with moderate hypoxia(SaO2 64%~84% moderate M0SAHS) group, respectively, according to <> of meeting of national sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome in HANGZHOU in 2002 .Results: As to concentrations of TG-C, LDL-C, plasma glucose and insulin urinary microalbum, serum aldosterone, 24-hour, daytime and nocturnal systolic pressure ,eject fraction, there were significant statistic difference between OSAHS groups andcontrol group. Rhythm of 24-hour blood pressure obviously changed in OSAHS groups. No statistic difference between OSAHS groug and control group can be dectered in the left parameters. Conclusion:1 , Concentrations of serum TG-C, LDL-C, two-hour plasma glucose and insulin during a standard oral glucose tolerance test in OSAHS group were higher than that of EH group.2, The level of serum aldosterone and urinary excretion of VMA and MAU were increased in OSAHS group. This increase was positively related to decrease of SaO2. 3, OSAHS group patients had more high systolic pressure, and most of them ,rhythm of 24-hour blood pressure disappeared. 4, Abnormalities of left heart of patients in OSAHS group were more severe than that of EH group.
