Objective Explore the relativity of MRPl in PBLs from patiens with lung cancer with response to chemotherapy; And to probe a new method for detecting multidrug resistance in lung cancer with PBLs to replace tumor cells of surgical resection for analyzing clinical chemotherapyresistance. Methods Using flow cytometry to detect the expressions of MRP1 in PBLs from 10 healthy persons and 30 cases with untreated lung cancer before and after chemotherapy; And to prove the relativity of MRP1 in PBLs with response to chemotherapy. Results The mean express ion of MRP1 in PBLs from healthy persons was 2: 01 ±0.68%; the differences of expressions of MRPl in PBLs before and after chemotherapy were significant (P<0. 05) . The differences in both groups before and after chemotherapy were not significant(P > 0.05). Conclusion The method to detect MRPl expression in PBLs with flow cytometry is feasible, easy and simple; MRP1 expression in PBLs goes up after chemotherapy and has acquired multidrug-resistance; It suggests that MRP1 expression in PBLs has not the relation with response to chemotherapy and can not know the response to chemotherapy . The further study is needed.
