Objective:This study was designed to quantitative analysis of multidrug resistance gene(MDR1)levels in peripheral blood and discuss the impact of MDR1mRNA levels of lung cancer upon clinicopathological features and chemotherapy response, and study the relationship between MDR1mRNA levels and biological behavior of lung cancer.Methods:fluorescence-quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(FQ-PCR)was used to examine the expression of MDR1mRNA levels in case of 30 healthy persons'peripheral blood and 40 case of lung cancer persons'peripheral blood. Pathological type:13 case of squamous cell carcinoma,14 case of adenocarcinoma and 13 case of small cell lung cancer. Results:There were existed significant different expression of MDR1mRNA between healthy persons and lung cancer persons without chemotherapy. The expressing intensity of MDR1mRNA was enhanced by the treat of chemotherapy in all kind of pathological in lung cancer. The expression of MDR1mRNA levels was significantly higher in Aadenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma of lung cancer(non-small cell lung cancer)than in small cell lung cancer. The expression of MDR1mRNA levels in peripheral blood of lung cancer was not related to gender, age and nation, their expression was not correlated significantly with the degree of the tumor cells and clinical stage of the disease in lung cancer persons without chemotherapy;on the contrary, their expression were existed significant different with the degree of the tumor cells and clinical stage of the disease after chemotherapy. Conclusions:The expression of MDR1mRNA levels is one of significant role in multidrug resistance,Chemotherapy may increase the incident rate of MDR expression in lung cancer.Adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma are mainly intrinsic MDR while small cell lung cancer is mainly acquired MDR to chemotherapy.MDR1mRNA expressive level can be used as a common clinical indicator for prognosis and chemotherapy in the patients with lung cancer.
