Being as a classic literature of Chinese medicine, includingmedical principle, great Chinese culture, and abundant of clinicalpractice, Shanghanlun has very precious research value for thecontemporary development of TCM. This dissertation takes theobstruction-removing therapy as the research object. The obstruction-removing therapy aims at the stagnationsyndrom .To make the readers understand this theory systematically,The theory of stagnation is divided into three stages according toage in this text: five kinds of stagnation in Huangdineijing, thetheory of six kinds stagnation raised by Zhudanxi and moderntheory of stagnation. In fact, Shanghanlun also contains the theory of stagnation,though which is concealed among the treating system. This theory isgreat important to clinical practice. In order to explore this theory,the dissertation begins from the influence of theory of Qi to theTCM , ending by theorizing the whole system. To clarify, this text isillustrated with three important examples. When we have a whole understanding to the theory of stagnation,it is easy to analyze the obstruction-removing therapy. Though thisprinciple hasn't clearly definition, it is connected closely with otherregular treating methods. Based on it, the dissertation analyzes allkinds of obstruction-removing therapy in Shanghanlun. That willbe very helpful to readers to understand this theory and itssignificance in clinical practice.
