Objective: To study the serum TGF-a, IGF-II level in malignant solid tumor patients and compared with normal control. Methods: TGF-a, IGF- II level were measured in 166 malignant solid tumor patients including 87male patients, 79 female patients, with average age 48 years old . 40 lung cancer ,34 breast cancer ,17gastric cancer ,14 colorectal cancer , 11 hepatic cell cancer ,32 malignant lymphoma and 18 soft tissue sarcoma . 20 noamal controls ,12 male patients ,8 female patients .with radioimmunassy technology measured. Results: The serum level of IGF-II is normal, serum TGF-a level is elevated significantly(P<0.05). If evaluated with the upper limit of x±2s (7.91 ng/L ) of normal contols, then lung cancer 43% , breast cancer 47%,gastric cancer47% ,colorectal cancer50% ,hepatic cell cancer63% , malignant Iymphoma47% ,soft tissue sarcoma50% are positive respectivelyConclusion: in malignant solid tumor patients , The . serum level of IGF- II is normal, serum TGF-a level is elevated significantly. Measure serum TGF-a level is helpful to the diagnosis of malignant solid tumor. The relationship of IGF-II and tumor related hypoglycemia is worth further studing.
