[Objective]To evaluate the effect of topical Corticosteroid drops in the treatment of moderate to severe dry eye.[Methods]20 eyes of 10 patients with moderate to severe dry eye , who have been treated with artificial tears , were treated by 0.1% Fluorometholone eye drops. Subjective symptom and objective tests were evaluated before and after the instillation of 0.1% Fluorometholone eye drops one week, twoweeks, one month, respectively, and the side effects were observed.[Results]After 1 week of treatment, subjective symptoms were improved in all dry eye patients; objective tests were improved in all dry eye patients after 4 weeks treatment, and the difference was significant.[Conclusions]Topical corticosteroid drops can rapidly and effectively relieve the symptoms and signs of moderate to severe dry eye, which were probably related to the inflammation.
