Objective:1 To investigate the different immune response in two operative approach in patients of lumbar disc herniation. 2 To investigate some immunity parameters and a relativity with lumbar disc herniation, We research for diagnosising, observing and judging disease. Methods: We investigated the patients of lumbar disc herniation from January, 2004 to June, 2004 and the patients were divided into three groups. We try to find out the dissimilarity in T cell subgroup, the CD4/CD8 ratio and IgM, IgG, the Oresponse protein, the erythrocyte sedimentation rate, the white blood cell among RRLD, AELD and non-lumbar disc herniation.Results:1 Pre-operative serum IgG levels and Serum IgM levels were significantly increased in RRLD types and AELD typescomparing with control group (p<0.05). Serum IgG levels and IgM levels in the post-operative stage(second week, fourth week) were significantly decreased in patients with AELD than in pre-operative stage, (p <0. 05) . Post-operative IgG levels and Serum IgM levels were not highly decreased in RRLD than pre-operative IgG levels and Serum IgM levels in the fourth week. Post-operative serum IgG levels and Serum IgM levels were significantly increased in RRLD types comparing with control group in the fourth week (p<0.05).2 Pre-operative CD4.CD8 and CD4/CD8 levels were highly decreased in RRLD and AELD comparing with matched control group. CD4, CD8 and CD4/CD8 levels in the post-operative stage (second week, fourth week) were significantly increased in patients with AELD than in pre-operative stage. (p<0. 05) . Pre-operative CD4, CD8 and CD4/CD8 levels were not highly differentiation in RRLD than post-operative CD4 ,CD8 and CD4/CD8 levels in the second or fourth week (p>0.05) . Post-operative serum CD4 and CD8 levels were significantly differentiation in RRLD types comparing with control group in the fourth week (p<0. 05). 3 The C- response protein, the erythrocyte sedimentation rate, the white blood cell had not significantly differentiation in RRLD types , AELD types and control group. (p>0.05).Conclusions: 1 Autommunity in lumbar disc herniation are related to nucleus pulposus. We think that in pre-operative serum immunity parameters may be of prognostic value in the patients with disc herniation. 2 Total nucleotomy is different from partial...
