Systematic Evaluation Of Literatures Of TCM Combined With Radiotherapy On Clinical Studies Of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Objective:With the methodology of the systemic review, the existing problems and outcomes of the clinic studies relevant to nasopharyngeal carcinoma were systemically analyzed. Based on this studies, the quality of the literatures relevant to the studies of nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated by traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) combined with were assessed in order to offer the idea of methodology to improve studies levels of nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated by TCM or TCM combined with radiotherapy.Method:Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(CBM) and TCMs in the year of 1995 to 2004 were used to research all randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published in the Chinese medical journals. According to the principle and methodology of clinic epidemiology/DME to evaluate the literatures relevant to the studies of nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated by the therapy combined with TCM and radiotherapy. The evaluation included the selection of object, randomization, method of blindness, comparability between groups, statistics, index to judge curative effects, case analysis of withdrawal and no-fellow-up, and side effects.Result:84 RCTs for nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated by TCM combined with radiotherapy.
