Objective To investigate the clinical diagnosis, surgical treatment, and prognositic factors of gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs) with hepatic metastases. Methods The clinicopathological data and immunohistochemical index of 4 patients with hepatic metastases GISTs were analyzed.Result CD117 was positive in 4 cases, CD34 was positive in 3 cases, SMA and S-100 were negative in all cases. Primary tumors and metastases lesions of 3 cases were aggressivelyresected entirely, and lcase was accompanied with Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA). One case relapsed after operation, which was intestinal stromal tumor. Conclusion CD117 and CD34 are helpful in improving the pathological diagnosis of the GISTs. Entirely resection of primary tumors and metastasis lesions accompanied with RFA. is the effective treatment of the GISTs with hepatic metastases. The size of tumors and mitotic index (MI) are the most important predictors of the prognosis.
