Objective To investigate the pathological and immunohistochemical features of CD34(-)or CD117(-)gastrointestinal stromal tumors and extra-intestinal stromal tumors. Methods The pathological and immunohistochemical data of 262 patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumor diagnosed at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University between January 2008 and December2016 were collected.Inclusion criteria: cases of gastrointestinal stromal tumors with complete pathological and immunohistochemical results.Exclusion criteria:Surgical treatment and/or targeted therapy and other treatments were performed prior to obtaining pathological and immunohistochemical results;CD117-negative,CD34-negative gastrointestinal stromal tumors. The sex, age, tumor site, tumor diameter, risk grade,CD34,CD117,Dog-1,Ki-67,mitotic figures, and SMA data were recorded.Analysis of CD34,CD117 positive(CD34(+),CD117(+)group),CD34 negative(CD34(-),CD117(+)group),CD117negative(CD117(-),CD34(+)group)Gastrointestinal stromal tumors, pathological and immunohistochemical features of gastrointestinal andextra-intestinal stromal tumors.Using SPSS22.0 statistical software for statistics,Pearson's ?2 test to compare the relationship between the data,P <0.05 prompted statistical significance. Results There was a statistically significant difference in the risk and tumor diameter between the CD117(-)group and the CD34(-)group and the CD34(+)and CD117(+)groups(P<0.05).There was a significant difference in the expression of Dog-1 between the CD117(-)group and the CD117(+)and CD34(+)groups(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the CD117(-)group and the CD34(-)group(P>0.05).The expression of SMA in CD34(-)and CD117(-),CD34(+),CD117(+)and CD34(-)groups was significantly different(P<0.05).There was a statistically significant difference in the risk grade of gastrointestinal stromal tumors compared with gastrointestinal stromal tumors, sex, tumor diameter, mitotic figures, and Ki-67 proliferation index(P<0.05),and it was expressed in gender,Dog-1,and SMA.The difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusions(1)The risk of CD117(-)gastrointestinal stromal tumors may be lower than that of CD34(+),CD117(+),and CD34(-)gastrointestinal stromal tumors.(2)The risk of extra-intestinal stromal tumors is higher than that of gastrointestinal stromal tumors.(3)Immunohistochemistry of Dog-1 and CD117 in patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors were all over 90% positive.(4)The prevalence of gastrointestinal stromal tumors did not differ significantly between men and women. The prevalence of gastrointestinal stromal tumors was high in the middle-aged and elderly people. The highest incidence of gastrointestinal stromal tumors was the stomach, followed by the small intestineand stomach.Intestines,duodenum,colorectum,esophagus.
