BackgroundChronic Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (CPID) is a recurrent and common gynaecological disease, severely influencing the health of woman. The main syndrome of this disease is chronic pelvic pain, which can leading to the disability of emotion and activities of daily life.Quality of life, as a synthetical outcome, has been used widely in measurement system of chronic disease. Conventional outcome assessments of CPID mainly based on the clinical syndromes are inadequate for evaluating the impact of pain on everyday life. So we developed a quality of life (QOL) scale for CPID on base of the related scales from home and abroad.Objective1. To develop quality of life (QOL) scale including subaspect of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for CPID and to describe the development and initial testing of this new assessment tool.2. To explore the development method of TCM scale.Methods1. The "zheng" of TCM scale were developed according to the method of frequency of items, sensitivity of items, and internal consistency of the scale in cross-section survey combined with prospected cohort study.2. 101 Patients with CPID were assessed of the scale of self-perceived disablement including functional, emotional status and the "zheng" of TCM in face-to-face format. 25 of them were re-evaluated after 2 weeks therapy and...
