Objective: To discover the possible effects of TβRI, Smad2, Smad3 and Smad7 in the genesis of keloids. Correct theories then could be provided to prevent and treat keloids with TGF-β1 and its downstream cytokines. Methods: IHC method was used in this study to investigate the expression of TβRI, Smad2, Smad3 and Smad7. Real-time PCR was used to detect gene expression of Smad3 in transcriptional level in fibroblasts of the above three tissues after TGF-β1 treatment.
