Objective: According to the pathogenic peculiarity of poison, retarded circulation of blood and qi deficiency, Formula Chinese medicine Tian-Chai(TC) mixture based on the therapeutic principle of eliminating poison and promoting blood circulation was studied out for postoperative Hepatic Metastasis Carcinoma(HMC) patients after surgical resection on digestive system malignancy, combined with transcatheter arterical chemoembolization (TACE)to observe the effect of the treatment with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine(lTCWM) on HMC. Methods: 46 cases of HMC patients after surgical resection on digestive system malignancy were randomly divided into 2 groups. 24 patients in the treated group were administered with TACE plus Chinese herbs (TC Mixture). The other 22 patients in the control group were mostly treated with TACE.Objective effects and the changes of subjective symptoms were studied. Results: Because of the significant improvement of the subjective symptoms, body weights, focus , quality of life (QOL), 1 and 2 years survival rate, laboratory Indexes and less toxic effects, the treatment with ITCWM showed better effects than single TACE. Conclusion: The treatment with ITCWM can inhibit the growth of the tumor lines and have better effects , so it is a positive and valid supporting therapy method on HMC.
