Objective :To investigate the expression of The Growth HormoneReceptor and Somastostatin Receptor 2,3,5 in human Breast Cancer andexplore the correlation and the relationship of between each tworeceptors ,and the clinical significance of their expression in breastcancer.Methods:Patients with breast cancer and benign lesion provedpathologically from Feb,2004 to Aug,2004 and operated in the firstaffilicated hospital of Guangxi Medical University were enrolled.Selected 30 cases of normal breast tissue as control group, 50 casesof breast cancer and theirs' adjacent tissue specimens as cancer groupand adjacent group,27 cases of the axillary metastatic lymph nodes ofthe breast cancer as metastic lymph nodes group and 18 benign lesionsspecimens as benign lesion group. The expression of The Growth HormoneReceptor and Somastostatin Receptor 2,3,5 was determined respectivelyin all five groups' tissue by immunohistochemistrical stainingtechnique (SP method). All groups'tissue had been fixed informalinand embedded in paraffin. Statistical analysis was done by SPSS10.,P ≤0.05 were considered significant.Results:1.The rate of positive expression of GHR was 52.0%,40.7%,16.0%,22.2%,13.3% in cancer tissue , metastatic lymph nodes ,adjacenttissue , benign lesion tissue and normal breast tissue respectively.The positive expression rate and strong expression of GHR was elevatedsignificantly in cancer group and metastatic lymph nodes compared withthe control group(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference inadjacent tissue group and benign lesion group compared to the normaltissues (P>0.05). 2. The rate of positive expression of SSTR2 was52.0%,44.4%,14.0%,22.2%.16.7% in cancer tissue, metastatic lymphnodes ,adjacent tissue , benign lesion tissue and normal breast tissuerespectively; The rate of positive expression of SSTR3 was 64.0%,51.9%,18.0%,33.3%,23.3% respectively; The rate of positive expressionof SSTR5 was 60.0%, 37.0%, 14.0%, 27.8%, 13.3% respectively. Thepositive expression rate and strong expression of SSTR2,3,5 waselevated significantly in cancer and metastatic lymph nodes groupcompared with the control group respectively (P<0.05),and there wasno significant difference in adjacent tissue group, benign lesion groupcompared to the normal tissues respectively (P > 0.05). 3.Theexpression of GHR in cancer tissue was related to the tumor size andaxillary metastatic lymph node,not related to patients'age , TNMstaging , pathological type of breast cancer ,Immunohistochemicalparameter ( ER, PR, P16, et al );And the expression of SSTR 2,3,5was not related to all of clinical pathological parameter. 4.Theexpression GHR in cancer group correlated positively to theexpression of SSTR 2 or SSTR 3 or SSTR5 in cancer group ( r value 0.359,0.364, 0.360, P<0.05).Conclusions:1.The rate expression of GHR and SSTR 2,3,5 in cancertissue became higher than other tissue.It suggested the expression ofGHR and SSTR 2,3,5 correlated positively between them in breast cancer.They was kept restriction and balance between each other.When therestriction and balance was broken.It may be contributed to the genesisand devolopment of breast cancer directly. 2.The expression of GHRin cancer tissue was related to the tumor size and axillary metastaticlymph node, not related to other clinical pathological parameter ;and The expression of SSTR 2,3,5 was not related to all clinicalpathological parameter above. It suggested that GHR may be a markerof an unfavourable prognosis ,and SSTR2,3,5 may be a marker of protectfactor. 3.The expression GHR in cancer group correlated positively withthe expression of SSTR 2 or SSTR 3 or SSTR5 in cancer group.It showedthe expression of GHR and SSTR 2,3,5 in cancer tissue was very relatedto the cellular proliferation , differentiatin, progression andapopotosis of breast cancer. 4.The rate expression of GHR and SSTR 2,3,5in cancer tissue became higher than other tissue.It provided thetheoretical basis to treat breast cancer using SSA and be careful totreat breast cancer using GH in clinics.
