Purpose: To evaluate the status of accommodation and refractive error development. To investigate the correlation between these factors. Methods: 45 students (90 eyes) were chosen randomly. Refraction, accommodative amplitude, accommodative facility and related positive accommodation tests were performed on the students. Results were analyzed with SPSS software. Results: The average age of the students was 22.91 ± 1.821 years(20—26 years). The mean Diopter of the refractive error is -3.4694±3.06778D(the maximum was — 10.00D).The mean valve of the accommodative amplitude was 8.4920D± 1.60722D (6.25D—13.70D).The mean valve of the accommodative facility was 9.64±2.295 per min. The mean valve of the related positive accommodation was -2.1889 ±0.8374.The results showed that the accommodative amplitude was significantly related to refractive error ( r=-0.885, P ≤ 0.05 ) . The results also showed that accommodative facility was not related to refractive error (r_s=0.132, P=0.215). and related positive accommodation related to refractive error (r_s=-0.503, P=0.000).Conclusion: refractive error was significantly related to the accommodative amplitude refractive error was not related to the accommodative facility. Refractive error was related to the related positive accommodation.
