AIM: To study the ortho-k lens and frame glasses in patients with juvenile myopiathe influence of the accommodative lag, accommodative facility and AC/A, furtherclear the effectiveness of controlling the myopia development and security.METHODS:Randomly selected60patients to our hospital checked-upsuccessfully with ortho-k lens of juvenile myopia patients as experimental group, and60cases were randomly selected given frame glasses as control group. Observed twogroups of patients before and after refractive correction the changes ofaccommodative lag, accommodative facility, AC/A and sphericalequivalent.Observation time was1month、3months、6months、1year.RESULTS:1、Accommodative lag: The experimental group worn glasses beforeand after1month、3months、6months、1year were:1.05±0.28、0.92±0.16、0.71±0.19、0.62±0.13、0.64±0.18,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The control group worn glasses before and after1month、3months、6months、1year were:1.03±0.27、1.03±0.19、0.95±0.19、0.82±0.11、1.08±0.16.Wornglasses before and after1month、1year, there was no statistically significantdifference(P>0.05); Worn glasses before and after3months、6months thedifference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The control group and experimentalgroup before wearing glasses had no statistical significance (P>0.05).The two groupsafter wearing glasses had statistically significant (P<0.05).2、Accommodative facility: Experimental group worn ortho-k lens before and after1month、3months、6months、1year were:9.33±2.65、10.82±2.06、10.59±2.31、10.90±2.48、11.05±2.55,there were significant differences (P<0.05). Control groupworn glasses before and after1month、3months、6months、1year were9.56±2.32、10.76±1.88、10.49±2.40、10.85±2.08、9.02±1.97. Worn glasses after1month、3 months、6months compared with before, there were significant differences (P <0.05);there was no statistically significant difference (P>0.05) after1year.The two groupshad no difference before(P>0.05),and after1year had significant difference (P <0.05).1month、3months、6months after wearing glasses were similar between thetwo groups which had no statistical significance (P>0.05).3. The AC/A: Experimental group worn glasses before and after1month、3months、6months、1year were:4.05±2.03、3.05±1.85、3.31±1.02、3.14±1.64、3.20±1.55,difference were statistically significant(P<0.05).Control group worn glasses beforeand after1month、3months、6months、1year were:4.12±1.86、4.09±1.38、3.58±1.45、3.84±1.41、4.23±2.01. Worn glasses after1month、6months、1years therewere no statistically significant difference (P>0.05).3months after worn glassesthere was significant differences (P<0.05). The two groups had no significantdifference (P>0.05) before. Wearing glasses after1month、6months、12months,the two groups had significant difference (P<0.05);3months after worn glasses therewas no statistically significant difference (P>0.05).4、Spherical equivalent, observation time was1year: experimental group sphericalequivalent degrees increased by0.38±0.35DS, the control group spherical equivalentdegrees increased by0.84±0.56DS, the two groups were statistically significantdifference (P<0.05).CONCLUSION:1. The experimental group after wearing ortho-k lens, theaccommodative lag was improved obviously, and tended to normalize gradually.Theaccommodative lag of the control group was improved slowly, not to the normalvalue. The volume of accommodative lag was bigger after myopic degree increased.2. The experimental group on the improvement of the accommodative facility wasfaster than the control group. In myopic degree under the condition of no significantgrowth, the accommodative facility were similar in both groups, but increasing aftermyopic degree increasing. 3. Both groups could reduce the AC/A value. The experimental group than the controlgroup was better and faster to improve the relationship between the adjustment andcollection. The AC/A value was on the high side after myopic degree growth.4. Different refractive methods affected the patient’s visual function, visual function inpatients with the same changes could also affect the stability of the diopter.5.The ortho-k lens was an effective lens for the moderate myopia. It could moreeffectively control the growth of juvenile myopia than frame glasses, which was aneffective way to control the myopia. The mechanism of improving his visual functionremains to be further studied.
