Objective:To investigate effect of Bai ai's extraction on hyperuricemia rats. Methods: Potassium oxonate was selected to induce hyperuricemia rats by injecting intraperitoneally. Trinder method was used to detect the serum urate levels. All rats were treated comparatively with different dose of Bai ai's extraction and allopurinol respectively. Results:The result show that at 1.5h the serum urate levels of blank group (5.3192±0.103624707)were significantly higher than those of normal group(1.85875±0.252906787). The serum urate levels of low-dose Chinese herbs group(3.78815±0.143311657) were significantly different from blank group(5.3192±0.103624707)at 1.5h. There was significant difference between Chinese herbs group of three different dose at 3h. At 1.5h the serum urate levels of high-dose Chinese herbs group (2.502816667±0.192882818) were significantly different from allopurinol group(2.033916667±0.091577954),whereas at 3h there was no significant difference between high-dose Chinese herbs group(2.3079±0.204917466)and allopurinol group(2.132733333±0.079816231). Conclusion:(1) Potassium oxonate can induce hyperuricemia rats by injecting intraperitoneally.(2) Low-dose Chinese herbs group can effectively decline the serum urate levels.(3) There was significant difference between Chinese herbs group of three different dose in lowering the serum urate levels,so the effect of Bai ai's extraction on hyperuricemia rats was correlated with dose.(4)Compared with allopurinol, at 1.5h the effect of high-dose Chinese herbs was lower, but at 3h there was no significant difference.
